Researcher

A researcher is a character tasked with collecting information. In DoE tales, the term generally applies to trained workers who gather info on areas, opposition, or other subjects of interest. Additionally, these individuals may direct missions remotely by providing guidance to field agents. Researchers generally receive some degree of combat training, and may participate in battle occasionally.

The computers Octon and Dynak, created by Ming and Rick Gordon respectively, were the first researchers introduced in DoE storytelling. Living researchers, such as Tori Gordon, are often considered more valuable, due to their abilities to make predictions and adjustments that machines cannot, along with their greater versatility and mobility in combat.
