Defense Organizations
There are numerous defense organizations in Defenders of the Earth fan fiction.
Defenders of the Earth
A private group comprised of experienced crime fighters and their respective children. Using Flash's connections, and Mandrake's resources, the Defenders create their own base and amass several tools, which they mainly use to counter schemes constructed by Ming and other foes. They are assisted occasionally by Flash's sisters in the government.
Intergalactic Union Agency
The Intergalactic Union (IU) is a massive organization that comprises at least 15 worlds, some of which are located in different galaxies. The IU was created initially to maintain peace between neighboring planets, which sought to avoid clashes like those between Mongo and Earth. Eventually, Earth accepted an offer to become part of the peacekeeping alliance, though Mongo declined. Every planet in the IU has an agency, which warns the others of possible attacks from hostile worlds. The agencies also arrange diplomatic visits with each other, and help to defend their own worlds from various threats. When introduced, Janet Elisonne is the head of the Intergalactic Union Agency (IUA) on Earth, and her daughter Tori is an operative. The group has several divisions.
Unit 3
Headed by Abigail Gordon, Unit 3 is known as the back-up force, typically called upon when the DoE or the IUA need assistance. The unit is a military-like organization with a heavy reliance on weaponry and combat vehicles. Unlike the other groups, Unit 3 does not engage in diplomacy, and does not utilize supernatural operatives. Abigail's daughter, Sara, is a skilled pilot and a proud member of the team. Occasionally, Unit 3 will handle small-scale matters that the other organizations may be too busy to resolve, as was demonstrated when Abigail recruited her niece, April, to assist with thwarting an assassination attempt.
