Amy O'Connor is a character introduced in Defenders of the Earth: This Is Their Story, and featured subsequently in other works. 

Upbringing

A powerful magic user with a seemingly meek exterior, Amy is the daughter of Mandrake and his former lover Cathleen O'Connor. She was raised in foster care without Mandrake's knowledge until her powers began to manifest, frightening her foster parents. She then departed the home to find her biological father.

DoE

In This Is Their Story, Amy arrives at Mandrake's mansion and gradually becomes a member of his defense unit, the Defenders of the Earth, while attempting to forge a bond with her dad. She befriends teammate April Gordon, who also endured a lengthy separation from family before joining the group. An older Amy appears in This Is Their Side Story, set in an alternate dimension.

Skills

Amy is believed to be among the most powerful magic users in the galaxy, along with Mandrake, Damian Dark, and Damian's daughter Veena. Her primary ability is telekinesis, which she employs in a variety of ways. 

In This Is Their Side Story, it is revealed that she can fly by levitating herself, allowing her to travel great distances at great speed. She is also capable of harming foes by lifting them to significant heights, and can incapacitate someone by restraining them telekinetically. While clashing with the robot captain Garax, Amy demonstrates an ability to snap an enemy's body parts, suggesting that she can break a living target's bones through indirect combat.

During a battle with Veena Dark, she employs telekinetic force to shatter a large window, then uses the shards as projectiles. Her telekinesis also blocks incoming attacks. 

While facing a particularly dangerous opponent during a showdown in Monitor, Amy proves strong enough to pull lava from the base's depths, incinerating her foe.

Amy is also familiar with various magical spells, allowing her to project harmful energy through her hands, or to create illusions that can hinder opponents.

Her mystical power is possibly greater than her father's own. Throughout each tale, she struggles to avoid growing consumed by her strength when she becomes emotional. Losing control of her abilities would result in the loss of her mind and a danger to the world. Amy's mother Cathleen, an abusive magician, occasionally attempts to sway her toward this darker path.

Relationships

Amy is the long-absent daughter of Mandrake, whom she meets near the beginning of This Is Their Story. The two attempt to form a closer bond gradually. Her mother, Cathleen O'Connor, is also a magician. In This Is Their Side Story, Amy and Rick Gordon begin a romantic relationship and grow committed. They have a daughter named Alyssa in the This Is Their Story continuity.
