Lothar Junior is introduced in Defenders of the Earth and developed further in DoE fan fiction. The son of Lothar, he is a suave-talking, easygoing martial artist who has close bonds with the other young Defenders.

Though LJ sometimes speaks and acts impulsively, he generally recognizes and learns from his mistakes, making him one of the more mature youngsters in the group.

In some fan fiction, LJ, like his peers, is shown to be troubled by his family legacy. Though he is close to his father, he occasionally resents the fact that others expect him to be just like Lothar, which creates a desire to establish himself as his own man. Defenders of the Earth: This Is Their Side Story explores the aforementioned concept while introducing the LJ of Earth C.
