Kit Walker is one of the principal characters in Defenders of the Earth, developed further in fan-created tales.
Collected and disciplined, he is the latest member of his family to hold the mantle of Phantom, which he won in a competition with his brother Kurt. Possessing supernatural abilities, excellent combat skills, and great agility, he leaves the Bandar village for Central City, bringing his daughter Jedda along, in order to join the Defenders of the Earth.
Numerous writers have examined the character's personal life. Innocence plays particular emphasis on his fatherhood. The tale Dynasties reveals his ex Jade as Jedda's mother.
In several tales, he grows particularly close to Queen Hadea, whom he has a complicated romantic history with. Many writers also establish a familial bond between Hadea and Jedda.
