The Story Begins — Original Pilot is a work of fan fiction by Marzena. This tale explores what might have occurred had Jedda Gordon been retained for the TV show's first episode and onward. However, Jedda is substituted in this tale with Duffy Gordon, an original character modeled after Jedda, but given qualities of her own.
In The Story Begins, Duffy makes the difficult adjustment to life without her mother while becoming a full-fledged member of the Defenders of the Earth.
