Chapter Sixteen: The First Abductions: LJ and Mars
Krotan got the final materials he needed for his latest plan. He smirked with satisfaction.
"Everything should be in order now." Krotan stated. "Now I can use those brats at the space station as pawns for my latest plan."
He glanced around the room for a moment. Then he looked over at the weapons before him: one that trapped people in suspended animation, another that trapped people in barriers that he convinced people from the planet Rebula to let him have a week prior, a gas mechanism which would knock out his victim instantly, a pack of black dust from Mongo, and a couple of other interesting gadgets.
"These will be perfect traps for each of those Sailor Guardians." Krotan stated. "Those younger Defenders too. However, I can't kill them. Not instantly. I will have to use stealth for this plan. Who should I go after first?"
He paused for a moment before finally speaking up, "That Sailor Guardian of fire would make an excellent first target. She's the one who gets suspicious and can detect energy."
Then he faced a small group of ice robots that were with him. "We shall head to the space station right away and give those Defenders of the Earth and the Sailor Guardians a big surprise."

Rei glanced over at the group as she felt a cold wind past her. It felt as if something was about to happen.
"Rei, what's wrong?" Ami asked.
"I sense that something's about to happen." Rei answered.
"Nothing too serious has happened so far." Makoto shook her head. "Aside from Rick having to disable the magnetic shields by those Glow people."
"The repairs are now complete." Rick announced as he stood up along with April.
"These were pretty tough but nothing we can't do." April added.
"That's good." Jedda replied.
"April, I think you should head back to Monitor." Rei suggested. "The rest of us will catch up."
"What?!" April exclaimed in annoyance.
"Rei has a point." Rick smirked. "As leader of a mission being you, you should let our parents know how everything went at the space station."
April groaned in annoyance. "Well, in case something does happen, Rick is in charge of the group."
"Oh," Cathleen spoke up, "you should have nothing to worry about, dear. Everything will be just fine."
"Yeah right." April scoffed as she rolled her eyes.
Rei watched as she left the space station and she couldn't help but to think that April was spot on with her little prediction. She looked over as the others were talking among themselves. She wondered just what kind of new threat was about to come for them.
She was startled when the alarm blared off and turned around. It appeared as if the enemy was about to arrive.
"Don't tell me Ming has come here!" Usagi exclaimed.
"Maybe." LJ replied nervously.
"I guess April was right after all." Rick stated.
"Looks like it's time for action!" Makoto declared.
Rei found it a good thing that they have already transformed. There was now a situation where they needed it and they surely needed the Sailor Guardians now.
The group were taken by surprise as they saw a green skin man with pointed ears enter the space station with a group of ice robots.
"That's not Ming!" Minako exclaimed.
"No." Jedda replied. "That's his son, Prince Krotan."
"Then we can expect just as much trouble with him as we would with Ming, right?" Makoto asked.
"That's right." Rick answered. "He kidnapped Jedda and nearly succeeded in having her marry him."
"I'm not here for that right now, Rick Gordon." Krotan replied, overhearing the conversation.
"Then cut to the chase!" Usagi demanded. "What are you here for?"
"My father, Ming the Merciless, sent me here to take care you troublesome brats." Krotan answered.
Rei could sense that what the prince had just said was only half true. Yes, he wanted to eliminate them as well as the rest of the Sailor Guardians but he had recently been defeated by the others back on Earth, most likely before April returned to Earth.
"I say we should teach Krotan some manners!" Rick exclaimed, arming himself with his ray gun.
"That sounds like a good idea." LJ replied, arming himself with his ray gun. Jedda and Cathleen also armed themselves with ray guns.

Cathleen looked on as the group was preparing to fight Krotan and the army of ice robots. She knew about the ice robots during her time being captured by Ming but she wondered how Krotan was the one in charge. Then again, they also had ice robots in Mongo, so that wasn't really surprising.

"I'd like to see you try and defeat me." Krotan sneered at the group.
"Is that a challenge?" Makoto asked.
"Pretty much."
It didn't take long for his opponents to attack. Rick, LJ, Jedda and Cathleen fired their ray guns at him as well as the ice robots.
"Moon Princess Halation!"
"Mercury Aqua Mirage!"
"Mars Flame Sniper!"
"Jupiter Oak Evolution!"
"Rolling Heart Vibration!"
Krotan watched as the attacks took out a couple of the ice robots. He also dodged the laser blasts from Rick, Jedda, LJ and Cathleen.
"Those girls are indeed strong." Krotan stated. "I wonder how one of them will be able to withstand this!"
He got out the blaster which trapped Rei in a black barrier.
"Rei!" LJ exclaimed in shock.
"Now it's your turn." Krotan stated as he got out another mechanism.
"Wanna bet?" LJ replied as he kept himself armed.
"I sure do." the prince replied as he unleashed a blast of white gas from the mechanism which hit LJ. He watched as his opponent coughed a bit before eventually passing out.
"Now to take the first of my pawns." Krotan muttered.

Usagi looked on in shock as she saw Rei trapped in some sort of barrier and LJ knocked out unconscious.
"Sailor Mars!" Ami exclaimed in shock.
"LJ!" Jedda added.
"Take them." Krotan told his ice robots.
"Not a chance!" Usagi exclaimed before proceeding to attack. "Moon Tiara Action!"
The attack took out three of the ice robots as Rick, Jedda and Cathleen fired their ray guns at them.
"Shine Aqua Illusion!"
"Supreme Thunder!"
"Venus Love and Beauty Shock!"
All the attacks were effective and took out more ice robots.
"We have to help Sailor Mars!" Usagi exclaimed.
"LJ too." Rick added.
"Right." Usagi nodded before starting to attack again. "Moon Gorgeous Meditation!"
The attack defeated the rest of the ice robots and freed Rei from the barrier that she was trapped in.
"Well," Rick quipped, "that worked."
Krotan sneered a moment before walking over to where Rei and LJ were laying.
"What are you going to do with them?" Usagi demanded.
"Don't get your pretty little head in a knot." Krotan answered with a sneer. "They are still alive. For now."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jedda asked.
"I will be taking them both back to Mongo with me, dear Jedda." Krotan answered. "Don't fret. You will soon be joining them."
"I highly doubt that." Jedda muttered.
With that, Krotan vanished from the scene along with LJ and Rei.
"LJ!" Rick and Jedda exclaimed in unison.
"Sailor Mars!" Usagi yelled in shock. "No! Sailor Mars!"
Author's Note: Now that I've gotten the section with "The Sun Stealers" out of the way, I think this should be easier to get through this volume now as we are now on the "Computer Checkmate" part of this volume.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jedda asked.

"I highly doubt that." Jedda muttered.
With that, Krotan vanished from the scene along with LJ and Rei.
In this scene, I was showing that Krotan still had his powers that he obtained by the witch Zorelda during the Prince Krotan story arc, even after her death, as that's one of the many things that is irreversible in both the Sailor Moon and Defenders of the Earth fandom, which is teleportation, disguise and telekinesis.

Using the power of the Necklace of Oros, Queen Hadea conquers the galaxy. The Defenders seek help from a group called the Sailor Guardians.
Rei notices the effects of battle on Usagi. Meanwhile, both teams make desperate efforts to end the clash. The Sailors approach Hadea's temple, and Flash's daughter returns to lend her aid.
Each side becomes more powerful.
Issues in Jedda's past and present lead to a monumental decision.
Princess Jedda begins embracing Hadea's cause. Ami and Rick continue to bond.

Now divided, the teams fend attacks off while struggling to reach Hadea.
As Rick and the princess finally reunite, a climactic showdown with Hadea begins.
The Guardians and Defenders continue their clash against the queen.
In the aftermath, revelations emerge and choices are made.

The younger team members begin adjusting to the changes. Others strive to fit back into normal society.
As his companions reflect, Mandrake begins to sense a mystical disturbance.
Mandrake is reacquainted with a major figure in his life.
Ming returns.
The group scrambles to counter Ming, who is aided by Krotan.

The groups scurry to save their friends. Ami and Rick have a personal discussion.
As Minako and Jedda connect, Krotan continues closing in on members of the group.

The Defenders and Guardians make their stand against Krotan.

Rick's dreams signal a great change in his life. Mysterious figures begin moving behind the scenes.
Rei and Rick sense more darkness on the horizon.
Ming and Galaxia engage in discussions.
An unexpected battle occurs at a concert.
Rick considers the effects of his transformation.
The team has a confrontation with a group knows as the Three Lights.
Rick's abilities make him a target.
As Rick continues healing, the Sailors assess the situation with the Starlights.

As the struggle against Galaxia continues, Hadea and Jedda discuss the Netherworld's future. Meanwhile, Usagi's power grows.

Rick frets over his mutation while others seek to reverse it.
The Sailors and their allies face a new threat in Tin Nyanko.
Nyanko becomes the latest to seek Rick's power.
As Rick's humanity begins slipping away, his friends continue their quest to cure him.
Rick runs amok, and a massive battle against Nyanko begins.
The Sailors make a stunning discovery.
Jedda and Rick take a huge step forward.

Rick and Jedda begin their new lives.
A girl arrives to meet Mandrake.
The group begins getting to know the newcomer.
Rick is visited by a servant who gives him access to valuable information.
Amy's special abilities are revealed.
Rick learns more about his power, and how it might relate to the current events. Hadea attempts to console him later.
The group endeavors to rescue Mamoru from a mystical prison.
Usagi and her friends confront Mamoru's captor.
The battle in the dream realm reaches a conclusion.
The aftermath of the dream clash brings several people closer.
Volume Six
Rick senses that the Netherworld could face an imminent attack.
The groups begin learning more about the Kings.
Hadea and her companions take preemptive measures against Zorelda.
Hadea and Phantom explore their bond, as do several others throughout the day. First appearance of Tori Gordon.
Rick and Jedda work to resolve recent issues. Minako explores life in the Netherworld.
Ming reenters the fray as the Kings converse with Zorelda.
The groups decide that it's time for the confrontation.
The Guardians and Defenders engage the Kings in the Netherworld.
The Kings begin to realize the truth.
With Zorelda seemingly thwarted, the groups begin moving on. A woman named Rachel arrives at Monitor.
Everyone begins learning more about Rachel.
