Chapter Three: Unions
Hadea watched as the white energy floated before her. She smirked as the mass began to grow.
She lifted her hands to make it spread even further. Moments later, it faded a bit, and a figure was revealed within the mist.
The light around Zorelda dissipated slowly. She stood before Hadea. She was alive.
But her back was slouched. Her steps were slow. Once again, she was older and weaker than she'd been before, and she immediately yearned for her younger form.
Steadying herself, she stared at the queen. "So," Zorelda said, "you have decided to bring me back."
"Yes," Hadea explained calmly, "I have. You thought I destroyed you back in Juban. I did, but I managed to retrieve your molecules before they vanished completely. I figured that I would find good use for you."
"And how would that be exactly?"
"I am aware that you can tell the future," Hadea answered. "Therefore, I have brought you back- -"
"Because you figured that I can help you determine your future."
Hadea grinned a little. "Not surprised, I see."
"Not at all, my dear," Zorelda remarked. "I monitored your youth in the Netherworld, and I always sensed that you had greater ambitions."
"I figured that you knew about me," she chuckled.
Zorelda stewed. She wasn't pleased with having to serve this woman, and she definitely wasn't thrilled with her fragile state. However, she decided to make the most of things. She could find a way to take the Necklace of Oros somehow, and then she would regain her youth and her power. But in the meantime, she'd indulge the queen. "I have no choice. I will serve you well."
"Good," she replied while stroking her chin. "You can begin by respecting decorum. Drop to your knees, and use my title. You should know how to address a royal."
Zorelda sighed roughly as she lowered herself. "As you wish, Majesty."
Hadea stared, then narrowed her eyes. "Tell me now...what you see for me."
Zorelda concentrated. It'd been a little while. Within moments, though, a clear vision came — one that left Zorelda feeling simply awed. "I see your daughter Jedda, and the Phantom as well. Jedda Walker wishes to bond with you...and eventually, you will wed the Phantom." Zorelda had to pause just to take that in. The fates were clearly on Hadea's side. Not only would she continue to rule, she would have her other desires as well, according to what Zorelda knew of her. Opposing Hadea seemed futile now. No one could defeat this golden queen.
Hadea stirred a little. Her lips drew apart. The girl appeared touched by this revelation.
"First thing's first," Zorelda said. "You will need to conquer your enemies." Perhaps the prophesy all depended on that.
Hadea took a breath, looking aside. The necklace twinkled. A mist appeared. Within the cloud, Zorelda saw the people whom she'd just spoken to. "The main rebel group," Hadea declared. "The Defenders of the Earth." Zorelda wasn't certain of the team's location. Hadea clearly didn't know the answer herself. She could just view them for now, it seemed.
Zorelda made a nod. "Besides the Defenders..." She lifted her hand. "You are challenged by the Sailor Guardians as well." Zorelda's palm glowed. She altered the vision, showing her queen what she'd learned just now.
Hadea beheld the mist and saw six other figures: a blonde in white, blue and yellow; an aqua-haired girl; a brunette in red; a brown-haired girl; a blonde in orange; and a pink-haired girl.
"Those six are the ones who attacked me today," Hadea revealed. "Once the Guardians and Defenders are stopped, all the lesser rebels will fall as well, and then my conquest will be complete."

Usagi held her temple as she flew with the team, settling her gaze on the buildings below. They had been rescued by one of their agents — pilots who were helping them oppose Hadea. She hadn't learned the names of these comrades yet. She knew that she should have, and wanted to, but it was hard for her to make new friends now. She was too worried for others out there.
She hoped with all her heart that Mamoru was okay, given everything that had happened all year. They'd spoken only rarely, and not for a while. Then her thoughts drifted to the Outer Senshi crew: Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna as well. She also wished the best for Hotaru and her dad, who was taking care of the baby again. She also thought of Naru, along with her parents, her little brother Shingo, and even Gurio. Rei had been concerned for Yuuichirou as well, and worried about her dear grandfather too.
Usagi looked down. A sigh left her mouth. How were they going to defeat this queen?
Ami leaned forward. "Pilot? Where are we going to now?" Her curiosity was as charming as ever. Usagi simply paused to appreciate that. She needed something nice that she could latch onto.
"I'd like to know too," Makoto declared, the usual edge brimming in her tone.
Perched beside the pilot, Artemis looked back. "We're going to be heading into Skybrook City."
Luna and Diana nodded at the girls, seemingly attempting to calm their nerves.
"Skybrook City?" Minako eyed the three cats with confusion.
Luna sat low. "There's a resistance group in that city that might be able to help us against Queen Hadea," she explained. "We were able to get their coordinates."
"That's good news," Makoto replied.
Usagi wasn't convinced. People had been trying to stop Hadea for a year. No one succeeded. "I guess we'll see," she managed to mutter.
"It's not like you to be so gloom, Usako," a familiar voice spoke up.
A thrill stirred her spine, and shot to her heart. She looked up and saw that Mamoru, in his Tuxedo Mask uniform, was at the passenger's seat next to the pilot.
"Tuxedo Mask!" all six girls exclaimed happily.
Usagi's cheeks grew warm. Tears welled in her eyes. "M-Mamoru?"
He smiled at everyone, but held his grin on her. "The Defenders of the Earth are wanting to meet us," he relayed.
"We've been contacting them," the pilot added. "These folks know more than we do about Queen Hadea, and they could use all of the help that they can get. So could we."
Rei's eyebrows lowered. "Sounds like a team worth meeting," she stated.
Usagi looked her over, then studied the clouds. A ray of hope, or so it seemed. Moments later, she threw another glance at Mamoru.
"We're landing now," Diana announced, leaping onto Chibiusa's head. Minako lifted Artemis, and the white cat rested upon her shoulder. Then Ami followed suit with Luna.
Usagi took a breath as they left the vehicle. Even now, one year in, she couldn't stand the sights that surrounded her — the pale-looking grass and the castles ahead. This just didn't feel like Earth anymore.
The ground shook a little. A booth rose up, knocking the dirt right out of its path.
"That's the entrance," Artemis declared.
Usagi eyed Ami, seeking her approval. The others began to turn to her as well.
Ami hesitated, then nodded at them.
Moments afterward, everyone stepped in.
The booth carried them into a room below, a huge place laden with computers and weapons.
Ami began checking her blue headset, apparently searching for signs of life.
"There's nobody here," Usagi declared. "This couldn't be the Defenders' base, could it?"
"But it is," a voice answered her from behind.
Usagi turned, as did her team. Nine other people had joined them now.
"It's them!" Diana exclaimed.
"The Defenders of the Earth," Artemis added.
"That would be us," the blond man replied. "Welcome, Guardians"
Usagi shared another quick glance with Ami.
A man who was dressed similarly to Tuxedo Mask stepped forth. "Welcome to our home base, New Monitor." He flashed a charming smile, which seemed odd these days. "The name is Mandrake, and this is my assistant Lothar." He motioned to a muscular black man.
"Good to meet you," Lothar replied. "This is my son LJ," he said of the lean boy beside him.
"My name is Kshin, Mandrake's adopted son," a younger Asian boy said.
"I'm Flash Gordon," the blond man stated.
Usagi squinted. She'd heard of him.
"This is my daughter April and son Rick," Flash said, turning to the blonde teen girl and the teen boy at his side.
Rick nodded. "This is my girlfriend Jedda," he said in a polite, focused voice.
The cute brunette beside Rick cupped her hands. "Nice to meet you," she replied.
Usagi could feel a strong aura now. She'd sensed it coming down, and it was greater at present. Some of these people had mystical powers. Jedda appeared to be one of them. She figured that her friends could feel it as well.
Jedda turned to her left. "This is my father- -"
"The Phantom," Mamoru finished, smiling in a bit of awe.
The Phantom stood straight, his firm muscles bulging. "It is an honor to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too. All of you," Mamoru told the Defenders of the Earth.
Then, the Sailor Guardians proceeded to introduce themselves to the Defenders.
"Now that we've gotten to know each other," Flash said in an authoritative voice, "it's time to discuss the matter at hand."

Scene Commentary:
Steadying herself, she stared at the queen. "So," Zorelda said, "you have decided to bring me back."
"Yes," Hadea explained calmly, "I have. You thought I destroyed you back in Juban. I did, but I managed to retrieve your molecules before they vanished completely. I figured that I would find good use for you."
I decided that this would be a good route to take Zorelda, as she would become a threat to our heroes later on down the line. I also figured, given that Hadea is pretty powerful as she is, she would be able to retrieve Zorelda's molecules before they could be vaporized all together.
I could imagine this scenario in play as I intend for Zorelda to be the major threat in my final battle as I can see Zorelda wanting to plan her own scheme agianst Queen Hadea. It wouldn't be just the Necklace of Oros that she would need though. Stay tuned for that, folks!

The Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask would meet the Sailor Guardians, similar to how April would arrive at the New Monitor base in the previous chapter. Also, I was debating on the introductions of the team. I would end up going through with the introductions, though.
